Inside Tomo
Tomo Japanese Restaurant · Buckhead, Atlanta
The challenge
One of Atlanta's best Japanese restaurants. And almost nobody knew.
In January 2023, Tomo had everything a great restaurant needs except the part that brings people in.
Before Resto Experience
Where it started
1,000 Instagram followers, and no system behind them.
A menu, flyers and posts that looked like three different restaurants.
Invisible in search, unless you already knew the name.
A website that didn't match the room it was selling.
Two signature experiences, omakase and Tuna Tuesday, with no way to book either.
The food was exceptional. Everything around it was not.

Recognition
The food was never the problem
Everything on that list was ours to fix. Not this. Tomo was already among the best in the city, and the people who judge that for a living had said so.
Tomo earned the food. Our job was making sure Atlanta could find it.
Tomo offers exquisite traditional Japanese dishes with French and Italian influences. The floor-to-ceiling windows make the experience feel elegant and refined, but the true star of the show is the food itself.

What we did
One restaurant. The whole stack.
One location has to win its market every single night. That changes the system: fewer channels, more depth in each. As a restaurant social media marketing agency we build the whole stack in-house as a full-service restaurant marketing program, so nothing gets lost between vendors.
- Brand Strategy & Brand Book
Palette, typography and photography direction, defined before a single post went out.
- Website Design & Development
A site where every experience the restaurant sells has its own page and its own booking path.
- Social Media Management
Instagram from day one, on a content calendar built around the room, the craft and the weekly events.
- Content Creation & Photography
Food and atmosphere, shot in-house every week to one creative standard.
- SEO & Content Marketing
People searching for Japanese food in Buckhead find Tomo before they find a list.
- Google Business Optimization
Categories, photos, hours and posts tuned for local search and the map pack.
- Online Reputation Management
Every review answered, on every platform, in the restaurant's own voice.
- Paid Advertising
Meta and Google campaigns built around reservations, not impressions.
- Email & SMS Marketing
Campaigns that bring regulars back for the events that run every week.
Featured campaign · Tuna Tuesday
We turned a Tuesday into the hardest reservation in Buckhead
A whole bluefin, broken down in the dining room. Tomo was already doing it. What it lacked was a name people searched for, a page to book on, and a reason to talk before the doors opened. Our restaurant social media management gave it all three.

Naming
Name it.
A signature experience needs a name people can type into Google.
Destination
Give it a home.
A dedicated page on the site, with its own booking flow.
Cadence
Build the anticipation.
Content that runs before every edition, not after it.
Ranking
Own the search.
Rank #1, so whoever hears about it lands on the restaurant and not on a blog.
Every restaurant has something it already does well that nobody outside knows about. Finding it and building the machine around it is most of the job.
The business result
The part that shows up on the P&L
Year two of working together, compared to year one. Not a launch spike. The system compounding.

Brand
One identity, used every single day
Those numbers are the output; this is the machine that produces them. First we defined what Tomo looked like, then we applied it without exception. A brand book that stays in a folder is worth nothing.
Three typefaces, one job each

The logo, three ways

Primary

Horizontal

Isotype
The palette
Wider bar, bigger role — two primaries, two secondaries, four variants.
The typefaces

Three faces, one job each. Prestigious carries the logotype and the headlines, where the brand has to feel expensive. Brooklyn takes the body copy, the menus and the buttons, where it has to stay readable on a phone at the table. Zen Maru Gothic sets the Japanese, because leaving that to a system font is the fastest way to look careless.

Every Flyer, Every Screen
Content & social
Shot in-house. Posted every week.
A brand book is only worth what comes out of it. The photography is ours, shot in the restaurant, and we have run the account since day one.
A Japanese restaurant sells craft
One Account, Built From 1,000
We've run Tomo's Instagram since day one, January 2023 — one account, one voice, and a calendar that runs whether or not anyone remembers to post. The photography, the flyers and the reels all come out of the same brand system, which is why three years of content still reads as one restaurant and not as three.

July 2026
When Mick Jagger had dinner at Tomo in July 2026, the post went up the same day.
It became the best-performing photo in the account's history. You can't build a content system in the four hours a moment like that gives you. You either already have one or you don't.
Website, search & reputation
Found in Buckhead. Booked in one tap.
Two sides of the same job: that people looking for a Japanese restaurant in Buckhead find Tomo, and that booking it takes one tap.

Was a wonderful meal with the lady! Had a few appetizers, an entree and dessert and it was absolutely delicious. Taya, our server, was so sweet and attentive, and the pacing of the food coming out was absolutely perfect. Wonderful date night location!
Thank you, Spencer, for such a lovely review! We're thrilled you and your date enjoyed a full meal from appetizers to dessert, and that Taya took great care of you with perfectly paced service. We can't wait to welcome you both back to Tomo Buckhead for another great date night.

The Resto360 ecosystem
One system. Every part of it talking to the others.
Most restaurants buy marketing in pieces: a social media person here, a web guy there, an SEO freelancer who never talks to either. Resto360 is the whole stack under one roof. That is why the brand book shapes the content, the content feeds the rankings, and the rankings fill the reservation book.

The bottom line
Two years in, Tomo is the Japanese restaurant Buckhead searches for by name. The food was always there. What changed is that people can find it, book it, and see it every week before they ever walk in.
